Trig-Star contest takes place on two different levels, the Individual and State level and the National level. Our Sponsors help make these contests possible.
At the individual level, the students are given the test at participating high schools, and there is a winner at each school that participates. The state winner for each state are chosen based upon the performance of individual school winners.
State winners have the opportunity to take the national exam and earn the National Trig-Star title. Awards are provided to the first, second, and third place winners and teachers by the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
Trig-Star was created in 1983 by Russell E. Kastelle, RLS and member of the North Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
Scholarships are funded by NSPS Foundation Trig-Star Scholarship Endowment Fund (a 501 c (3) entity).
